Day 6 Hanging at The Big Bib Feb 7, 2014

This stop couldn't come soon enough. We heard so many ravings over this place so the MW crew was very very very excited to see what all the fuss was about. Just like the day 5 stop, we couldn't figure out why the heck we've never been here before?! We have missed out on so many things. I've wasted so much time eating mediocre BBQ. All I can stay is that owner, Stanley and his staff welcomed us like we were Meat Week rock stars! We're talking about rolling out the bbq red carpet!! This place is legit. It was definitely worth the hype. Ribs, brisket, chicken...oh my! We even sampled the fried catfish which was fresh & tasty. A lot of places really focus on meat but forget about the sides, NOT THE BIG BIB folks.  The sides were outstanding - sweet potato casserole, baked potato casserole, green beans. The favorite at the table was dessert. It was given the Katy B stamp of approval. Thank you Bib Bib - outstanding job.

Day 5 - The BBQ Station Feb 7, 2014

The Meat Week SA team hung their head in shame for the fact that as SA natives we had never visited this San Antonio BBQ hot spot. We sure have been missing out. Owner, Stewart Peacock and his team were absolutely phenomenal! The food.... OM-BBQ-GEE!!! The BBQ station in our opinion had the tastiest ribs on our MW14 tour. Everything was on point and we're so happy to have found a "new" (they've been doing this 20 years) bbq spot! Stewart, your staff and food is amazing. Thank you for being part of MW14!!!

Day 4 - BBQ elevated Feb 4, 2014

The Granary Cue n Brew stop on Day 4 was instantly a MW14 "must go to" event. As soon as the event details were announced (prix fixed rsvp only) seats were basically sold out, so Chef and Owner Tim Rattray decided on a 2nd seating. Not only did guests dine on a 3 course pork feast, but they were treated to MEATing the Chef as well as a visit from San Antonio's own Melissa Guerra. --

Day 3 - Tuckers Kozy Korner Feb 4, 2014

This MW14 stop was definitely one off the beaten path of DT SA. Tuckers owner Chris Cullum is a bad ass in his own right, known for his Attaboys burgers. What he brought to MW 14 was southern style at its delectable finest. Chris highlighted MW stop 3 with a special bbq pulled pork slider topped with mustard seed with a side of collard greens with hamhock. The inside of this lil kozy korner was brought to life by a group of hungry yelping meat weekers -- Thanks YELP SA -- and the hot Midtown Jazz trio. Fo sho one of the most fun stops along the way.

Day 2 - Big Bob and his burger math Feb 4, 2014

Day 2 tour stop was to Downtown SA to meet Big Bob himself. Special guest was Eugene Simor of Alamo Brewing Co. Bob's Meat Week special was a burger known as 50/50/50 - which somehow equals to 100% of awesomeness. The beefy giant consisted of ground beef, ground bacon and pulled pork -- not on top of the burger but INSIDE! MW officially crowns Big Bob the KING of burgers!

Day 1 - kickoff @ The Point Feb 4, 2014

Day 1:

Kickoff at The Point Park & Eats - food truck park & bar (Homebase of Meat Week SATX founders Denise & Noel) was a phenomenal success. We estimate about 500 in attendance throughout the entire day. Each food truck represented MW14 to the meatiest extent bringing their own version of meat week to the yard! The highlight of the day was our visit from Meat Week founders Erni & Chris....total rock stars and the coolest people we've met from LA ;) -- random moment of the event was a camera crew from Univision. They interviewed several people, including myself but perhaps I didn't roll my rrrr's enough because we've yet to see the footage.
