Day 7 & 8 Feb 3, 2015

The much anticipated grand opening of Dignowity Meats was a huge success! There were well over 150 guests, complimentary beer by local brewing Alamo Beer Co, music and the best of all we were able to raise over $800 for local non profit SA Heals!

Day 8 came to a end with our 1st annual MEAT ROLL social ride and back porch bungalow bbq. Thanks to our local Central Market for their generous donation, we were able to grill up burgers, dogs, chicken.....not quite the tasty spread we grew accustomed to during the week, but pretty damn tasty. Surprisingly, grilled drumsticks hot off the grill were a fan fave. I think they were a bigger hit than the Katy Perry halftime show. Oh and thank you Lone Star for the beer!

Day 6 Meat In The PARK Feb 3, 2015

Rain and food trucks don't always go together but we still had a great time with our die hard meat weekers and our meat week food truck crew, plus a visit from Saint Arnold Brewing Co and a tapping of a limited release Imperial Stout !

Day 5 & Day 6 Jan 31, 2015

Day 5: Pretty great time with the guys at The County Line BBQ. Super hospitable, they really rolled out the red carpet for us Meat Weekers! Special guest, John Griffin, co-author of Barbecue Lover's Texas clued us in to some awesome future Meat Week stops for next year.

Day 6: Huge response for the Grand Opening at Dignowity Meats. So many friends, family and neighborhood residence came out to support this new small business....which also happens to be co-owned by yours truly, Meat Week Captain/Co-Capt. Read more about the grand opening HERE and check out pics from our local newspaper HERE.

Day 2-4 Jan 28, 2015

Meat Week San Antonio is going strong as can be! Congers, B&D, B Daddy's had awesome turnouts.  There's a lot of Meat Week support happening in San Antonio.

Special shout-out and mad props to our Meat Week Posse Chris, Julia, Amanda, Laura and Joel ---  They are truly dedicated to meat, like really really really. That's cool. Keep on meatin' on guys!!

Ready. Set. Day 5-8. Let's do this!

Meat Week 2015 - Day 1 - Central Market & Big Bob's Burgers Jan 26, 2015

Can't even describe how cool this years pre kick-off was...but I'll try! Well to start, Broadway Central Market (which is a pretty big deal in SA...Texas for that matter), contacted Meat Week SA to host a meatucation, meat 101, pre-kickoff grill up in the middle of their market parking lot. We sampled hot off the grill sirloins, pork chops, sausage, burgers & more. One of SA's local brewers, Alamo Beer Co. and Kiolbassa Sausage was also invited to share some samplings. We even had official Meat Week signage throughout the store and lots of interested customers. We can't thank the staff and organizers enough for helping share the message of Meat Week and their passion and dedication to the meat industry!

Our official kick-off took place at Big Bob's Burgers. Truth be told, I think we just found our new home for our annual Meat Week kick-off! Happy to see our die hard Meat Weeker's following us since year 1! Met some new faces and hopefully gained some new fans. The place was a madhouse and Bob sold out of his famous Meat Week 50/50/50 burger....that's called #MeatMath  50% chuck, 50% bacon, 50% pork butt! Crisis averted though, he had extra at his other location. We ended the night with a cold Alamo Golden Ale and good convo with Bob Riddle and his lovely wife Cynthia. Anyone visiting SA should make it a point to stop by our favorite locally owned and operated burger joint!!

Looks to be a good start.
